So, it is very important for business person to know how to address an envelope. Address written on envelop is the main important thing which decide speedy delivery of your mail to the right recipient. There are some unwritten rules you must follow while writing the address on envelop.

It is important to know what is the size of your envelop. There are various sizes of envelops available and depending upon the documents, different size of envelops are chosen.

If you are typing the address on envelop then don't use fancy type faces. Simple Arial or Times Roman types are preferred. The type sizes must be not less then 10 and not more then 14 points.
When you start writing the address on envelop, first thing you have to write is your own address at the left hand side of envelop, preferably at the upper end. This will be Sender's address. Many people forget or don't think it is needed. However, it is very much needed. Sender's name and address should be complete with street, state, city and zip code.
If you want to send your letter to some particular department or individual in a multinational company then it is important to write the Department's name or the name of the person at the top. This will ensure speedy delivery of your letter.
Avoid shortening the address. Write full address of the sender in the middle of envelop complete with suit no, street, city, state and lastly but importantly the Zip code.
