Addressing an envelope to England is very much the same as to other countries. It requires all the basic details such as name, zip code, door number etc. the royal mail of England was started in the 16th century. Addressing an envelope to England is described in the following steps.

  1. It should be started with the name of the person on the left hand side. It doesn’t need ‘To’ on top of it. Beneath it is the company name if required. Not needed in case of a personal letter.

  2. The next line should contain the building name or the street name along with building name. The street number comes on the next line.

  3. The next line should contain the name of the locality like for example ‘Heddle End’.

  4. The name of the town or the city should be mentioned in the next line. In capital letters. According to the English postal order the postal code should be on the final line.

  5. The name of the country should be mentioned on the line like ‘England’ or it need not be mentioned if the other requirements are disclosed perfectly.
